Romance guide

Robert can romance one of two characters — Blonde Blazer or Invisigal — through dialogue choices across the season. Commitment is forced later, so know the gates before you reach them.

Blonde Blazer

Available from Episode 1

The hero who recruits Robert as a dispatcher — roughly his age and framed as an equal. The most thoroughly documented route.

  1. 01Ep 1: pick 'I like helping people' at the bar, then kiss her at the billboard scene (first kiss).
  2. 02Ep 2: 'I'll take your lead' in the conference room; decline Phenomaman's invite ('Gotta get home to my dog').
  3. 03Ep 3: 'I'm sorry, Blazer' during her breakup beat; 'I like it' on the Z-Team cut.
  4. 04Ep 4 (gate): answer 'Incredible' when she asks how she looks, then choose the dinner date (not the movie) and kiss her at dinner.
  5. 05Ep 6: 'Make a plan first' at the housewarming; a desk hug and a dance at the party follow.
  6. 06Ep 7 (gate): when Invisigal offers a kiss, 'Lean Out' / reject it to stay on Blazer's route.
  7. 07Ep 8: 'Just come back' when she leaves.

Invisigal

Surfaces in Episode 4

A member of the misfit Z-Team who turns invisible by holding her breath. Her arc opens with an Episode 4 romantic dream about Robert. Less exhaustively documented than Blazer's.

  1. 01Ep 4 (gate): choose the movie with her instead of Blazer's dinner. Robert surprises her at the theatre; the scene is subtle rather than an overt gesture.
  2. 02Across episodes: acknowledge her in meetings, validate her feelings, ask about her past, and don't let her be talked over — this builds the mentor counter her route (and her good ending) depends on.
  3. 03Ep 7 (gate): 'Lean In' to her kiss to commit to her.

Gates, platonic, and “it's complicated”

  • Episode 4 is the first hard gate: taking the movie with Invisigal locks you out of Blazer.
  • Episode 7 is the decisive gate: accepting Invisigal's kiss commits you to her regardless of every earlier choice — there is no late-game recovery back to Blazer.
  • Platonic path: you can keep everything friends-only. Doing so earns the achievement 'We Can Just Be Friends'.
  • 'It's complicated' (both): if you're on Blazer's path but 'Lean In' to Invisigal's Episode 7 kiss, you get a both-women outcome that the game labels 'it's complicated' — it defaults to the Invisigal romance, and Shroud calls you out as a player in his final monologue.
  • Jealousy: flirting or dancing with others while pursuing one interest causes visible jealousy.
Not romance options

Despite claims on some sites, only Blonde Blazer and Invisigal are confirmed romanceable by hands-on sources. Waterboy and the other Z-Team coworkers (Flambae, Sonar, Coupé) are not, and reports of Malevola as a full romance are unconfirmed for the released game.
