Endings explained
There is no single final choice. The ending is the sum of every decision across all eight episodes, tallied into three hidden counters that resolve at the end of Episode 8.
Axis 1 — Robert's title: Hero / Antihero / Everyman
A hidden Hero-vs-Antihero point tally across the whole season. Reach 20+ Hero points to end a true hero, 20+ Antihero points to end an antihero, or under 20 of both to end an everyman. Reaching 20 on both at once isn't possible without save-editing. Example swings: dropping the captured villain off your balcony in Episode 1 is +1 Antihero; killing Shroud in the finale is +5 Antihero, sparing him is +5 Hero.
Axis 2 — Invisigal's fate: redemption or villain
Driven by how well you mentor and defend Julie (Invisigal), tracked as the Robert Mentor Counter (RMC), weighted heavily by Episode 7. At RMC 45 or higher she chooses justice — takes a bullet for Robert and is saved. Below 45 she is consumed by revenge, executes Shroud as a vigilante killer, and abandons Robert (absent from the final cutscene). [45 threshold is single-source — treat as approximate.]
Axis 3 — Romance
Who Robert ends up with: Invisigal, Blonde Blazer, no one (platonic), or 'it's complicated' (both). The romance axis combines with Invisigal's fate to produce the named endings below. See the romance guide for how to lock each path.
The six endings
The names are fan-assigned — the game itself doesn't title them. They come from combining Invisigal's fate (Axis 2) with your romance (Axis 3).

Finale (Episode 8) choices that matter
- Astral Pulse device: hand Shroud the fake (he detects it and forces the real one), the real one, or both (he discards the real, uses the fake, and it backfires).
- Spare or kill Shroud: killing him gets Robert suspended pending investigation and pushes Antihero; sparing pushes Hero. Each unlocks the opposite achievement.
- Sonar / Coupé fate: tied to your Episode 3 cut and defending LA in Episode 8 — spare them for a group photo, otherwise they're arrested. (single-source)
Datamining revealed a fourth, performance-based outcome tied to clearing the game's non-RNG elements (every hack across all eight chapters) rather than the moral counters. At launch AdHoc co-founder Nick Herman said it was “really hard to get,” that the studio's back-end showed no player had unlocked it, and that it may have been bugged/unreachable pending a fix. Treat as unconfirmed until patched.
