Choices & consequences

Dispatch autosaves and never asks twice. Every option below is what it costs you and what it buys — pick with the whole season in mind.

Before you pick

There is no manual save and no rewind. A decision here locks for the rest of the run, and several of them only pay out four or five episodes later.

Censorship toggles

The June 2026 “HR Violations” update added optional censorship toggles in Settings. They change how some scenes are presented rather than the choices themselves — most visibly the Invisigal romance beats in Episodes 7–8 — so what you see on screen can differ from the original release depending on how those toggles are set.

First Day Greeting

You meet your boss on your first morning at the SDN.

Thanks for the opportunity

Pick
Effect
Boss +2
Later
Easier to get risky dispatches approved in Episode 3.

I'm just here to do the job

Effect
No change
Later
The boss stays professional and distant.

This place is a mess

Effect
Boss -1
Later
He micromanages you in Episode 2, but you unlock unique dialogue.

Office Politics

The boss and the hero team disagree over protocol, and both look at you.

Let's find a compromise

Pick
Effect
Boss +1, every hero +1
Later
The safest line on a first run. Nothing locks.

I agree with the manager

Effect
Boss +3, hero morale -2
Later
More autonomy, but the heroes are slower to trust you.

I think the team has a point

Effect
All heroes +2, boss -2
Later
He micromanages the early episodes, but unique hero dialogue opens in Episode 3.

The Episode 1 Finale

Major branch

Three emergencies at once, and resources for one plan.

Evacuate civilians first

Effect
Public perception +5, unlocks Hero of the People
Later
The villain escapes and comes back in Episode 4.

Send multiple teams

Effect
Everything gets handled
Later
Three heroes open Episode 2 fatigued, at -2 to all stats.

Focus all resources on the main threat

Pick
Effect
Villain captured
Later
Side incidents resolve slower, but every hero starts Episode 2 fresh.

Robert's Personal Crisis

Major branch

Mid-episode, Robert has to decide whether to let anyone in.

I need to talk to someone

Pick
Effect
Chosen hero +5, unlocks Heart to Heart
Later
That hero is Robert's confidant for the rest of the series.

I can handle this alone

Effect
No relationship change
Later
Robert stays closed off, and Episode 5 runs a different storyline.

I'll talk to my boss

Effect
Boss +3, gains a mentor
Later
Unlocks the boss's backstory in Episode 6.

Multi-Hero Mission Strategy

Major branch

Your first two-hero dispatch. Requirements are Combat 7+ and Mobility 6+.

Coupé + Golem

Pick
Effect
+2 to both heroes' stats, unlocks Perfect Pairing
Later
The strongest synergy in the game.

Flambae + Invisigal

Effect
Success, faster resolution
Later
More property damage. Their bond gets referenced in Episode 4.

Cut Sonar or Coupé

Major branch

After Invisigal's incident, Blazer forces Robert to cut one Z-Team member to set an example. It's Sonar or Coupé — the one you cut is gone from dispatch sequences.

Cut Sonar

Pick
Effect
Unlocks "Watch your back, Robert." — he leaves his tie behind, Coupé is grateful you kept her
Later
You lose the roster's only high-Intellect hero (level Coupé's Intellect to cover). Sonar resurfaces with Shroud in Episodes 7–8; defeat him and you can forgive him and bring him back — or send him to jail.

Cut Coupé

Effect
Unlocks "But I cheered for Invisigal…" — Robert keeps her knife
Later
You lose your best Mobility all-rounder. Coupé joins Shroud instead; the same forgive-or-jail choice applies if you beat her.

Hire Waterboy or Phenomaman

Major branch

The cut seat on the Z-Team has to be filled. The choice is between the SDN janitor and the disgraced alien A-lister.

Hire Phenomaman

Pick
Effect
Unlocks "I Wish To Make Love To You again"
Later
Immediately strong flyer with super-strength — but he suffers bouts of depression, and he's Blonde Blazer's ex, which colors her route.

Hire Waterboy

Effect
Unlocks "It Smells Very Chemically In Here"
Later
Starts weak, but he's the only path to the Fool's Luck achievement — his solo "Stop the Assassination" roll sits at 7%.

Tell the Team Who You Are

Major branch

The Z-Team finally asks who the guy behind the desk really is.

"I'm Robert"

Effect
Unlocks "I'm The Guy Behind The Desk"
Later
The honest, human answer — lands better with the team as people.

"I'm Mecha Man"

Effect
Unlocks "That's Like A Real Superhero"
Later
The legend answer — lands bigger with a room full of capes. Pick the achievement you're missing; the story continues either way.

Defend or Cut Invisigal

Major branch

After the incident, the whole Z-Team wants Invisigal gone. In the locker room she also confesses she planted the bomb that destroyed the Mecha Man suit back in Episode 1 — then the team vote lands on your desk.

Defend her

Pick
Effect
Keeps Invisigal on the roster and her romance/redemption route alive (Sorry, Kid / I'm A Bleeder)
Later
The team grumbles, but her arc continues into the finale.

Cut her

Effect
She's absent for the following shift phases; pushes her toward the villain-era ending (Didn't See That Coming?)
Later
Locks out her romance route and changes how Episode 8 plays.

Kill or Spare Shroud

Major branch

The finale's moral fork: Shroud is beaten, and Robert decides what justice looks like.

Spare him

Pick
Effect
Unlocks "I can confirm he's a bad ass."
Later
The hero's ending — mercy, and the cleaner epilogue.

Execute him

Effect
Unlocks "Muuuuurrrdaaaaah!"
Later
Vengeance. A darker epilogue for Robert — worth a second playthrough, not a first.

Final Romance Outcome

Major branch

Episode 8 pays off every relationship choice you've made. There's no single prompt here — the game totals who you favored.

Blonde Blazer route

Effect
Unlocks "Any plans tonight?" — the kiss on a car
Later
Requires picking her supportive options across the whole season.

Invisigal route

Effect
Unlocks "I'm A Bleeder" — the kiss on a stretcher
Later
Siding with her isn't enough alone; you also need the romance choices, and defending her in Episode 7.

Romance no one

Effect
Unlocks "We Can Just Be Friends"
Later
Reject both — an active romance can still be broken off in Episode 7 to secure this.
How endings work

No single pick decides the ending — the game totals who you backed all season. The hero you cut in Episode 3 returns with Shroud in Episodes 7–8 and can be forgiven or jailed, and the finale resolves your romance, Invisigal's redemption, and Shroud's fate from the accumulated choices above.
